RS involves looking at the questions we ask about life and studying human beliefs, ideas and behaviours. We study the great world faiths and cultures that have shaped our modern world… and the ideas that we have about the meaning of human life.
In RS you learn the concepts of TOLERANCE and UNDERSTANDING. You will learn to interact with other people without fear or prejudice. Your lessons will be fun, interesting and relevant to everyday life.
Your History lessons will help you to develop your knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. You will be inspired to know more about the past; to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement. History will help you to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of our time.
Your Geography lessons will teach you about the world and people in it; giving you the knowledge about places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. Throughout KS3, your knowledge about the world should help you to deepen your understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments. Geographical knowledge, understanding and skills provide the frameworks and approaches that explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.
These subjects are taught together in a rotation in Year 7.
