GCSE History

In GCSE history students study a four varied and interesting topics. We will start the year with a study of how medicine has changed in Britain since the Middle Ages, eventually focussing on the trenches of World War I and the injuries soldiers suffered and the treatments available. We will then look at the reign of Henry VIII and the role his key advisors had in ruling England. The next topic is a study of the American West from 1840-90, looking at the lives of the Plains Indians and the conflict that resulted from groups such as gold miners, cowboys and farmers crossing their land. Finally, we will study Germany after World War I, from the Weimar Republic to the rise of Hitler and Nazi Germany.
